The Tour of Idaho typically takes nine days of riding to complete. As we have limited time, we have planned for the following:

Travel - MTZ to Malad City, ID 

D1 - Logan UT to Pocatello ID                    (160 miles)

D2 - Pocatello to Arco                               (260 miles)

D3 - Arco to Smiley Creek                         (190 miles)

D4 - Smiley Creek to Challis                      (135 miles)

D5 - Challis to North Fork                          (125 miles)

D6 - North Fork to Lowell                          (215 miles)

Travel - Lowell to MTZ

The Tour of Idaho (T1) is a dirt bike ride designed for soloists and small groups traveling alone and unsupported that begins in the Malad Range of southern Idaho and ends 1400+ miles later in the Selkirk Mountains near the Canadian border. It is very likely one of the most committing and difficult long dirt bike rides in the United States. It is NOT a dual sport ride - plated dirt bikes, with lights, are required. 

The Tour encompasses extremes of elevation (1486' to 10,420') and climate. It crests 10,000' three times and 9000 feet a dozen times more.Technical challenges include mud, snow, extensive sections of technical single track, rocky trails, numerous water crossings and deep sand. Navigational issues abound. The Tour is in no way a casual undertaking. Yet the variety of plants, animals and geological features found along the way is amazing. The riding is varied, challenging and always interesting. It's fun even when it's really hard. If you are the type of person who feels comfortable rebuilding a bike in the middle of nowhere (with a bear watching) or lashing logs together to cross a swollen creek, the Tour may be for you.
